I teach Sunday School for the first and second graders at our church. It is so amazing to share the Bible stories with them and help them to learn about God! I was so excited to get the chance to review the Buck Denver Asks...What's in the Bible? coloring book from Family Christian.
This coloring book is perfect for use at home, in Sunday School or Jr. Church, with homeschooling, or even if your child is sitting with you in church and listening to the pastor's message! With over 200 pages, there are many Bible stories included, from Creation to Paul. Best of all, all the pages are reproducible!! That was so helpful for me, since I needed copies for my whole class.
Besides the Bible story coloring pages, some Bible verses are written out so they can be colored. This would be a great help if you're teaching a memory verse! Many of the characters in the book are from the web TV show Buck Denver asks...What's in the Bible?, created by VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer. The characters are adorable and are fun to color, and they illustrate the different stories well!
After being sick for a week and missing a Sunday School class, I was anxious to get back and teach the next lesson about Queen Esther. The What's in the Bible? coloring book had three pages to choose from! I chose the page that introduced Esther and her cousin Mordecai. It fit perfectly with my lesson for the week!
My students really liked coloring the picture. They were so creative, and some were more realistic than others, as you can see below. :)
I will definitely be using this coloring book for more of my Sunday School lessons. It is a great help and a great addition to my class!
